I’m Roy de Rooij — the eye behind RDRFotografie.

I’ve always been drawn to moments that carry energy. The split seconds where everything comes together — speed, focus, emotion.

That curiosity started back in 2019, when I picked up my first camera. Not long after, I found myself at Circuit Zandvoort, watching from behind the fence — wondering how I could one day be on the other side, capturing the action instead of just watching it.

That question stuck with me.

Over time, I kept returning — learning, experimenting, and developing my eye for timing and detail. What started with motorsport grew into something bigger.

Because it was never just about speed.

It’s about what’s underneath it.

The tension before the start.

The silence after the finish.

The connection between people.

The small, real moments that often go unnoticed.

That’s what I look for — whether I’m photographing motorsport, sports, events or personal shoots.

In 2024, I took the step to turn that passion into something real: RDRFotografie.

My work is built on instinct, timing and attention to detail. I move with the rhythm of what’s happening, always searching for the moment that feels real — not staged, not forced.

From high-speed action to personal moments, I aim to create images that carry energy, emotion and story. Images that don’t just show what happened, but let you feel it again.

Music has always played a role in that as well. Since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to storytelling through sound — something I now try to translate into my photography: rhythm, feeling and atmosphere in every frame.

Today, that same drive continues to shape everything I create.
